It’s almost obligatory to let yourself go and obey the pull of gravity after a decade of marriage and several kids, no?
After all, who can begrudge you the extra cream puffs when you have to cook, wash and maintain home and hearth, all while nursing a career? But a woman need not be out of shape just because she’s a working mother, you know?
Here are four mothers who buck the trend and insist on looking like a million bucks.
Rozita Che Wan

Actress Rozita Che Wan, 37, is a mother of two boys, but you wouldn’t have guessed it looking at her. She has a porcelain complexion and a body to die for.
“I married at 20 and divorced at 30,” she sighs. “I have two treasures, Ammar Effendy, 14, who is studying in Kuantan, and Aniq Ezzra, 12, who goes to school in Subang. My mother was a single mum when my dad passed away. She managed to raise seven children so she’s my inspiration.

“The important thing is not to look back and have regrets. Just look forward and do the best you can. It was difficult for my kids to accept the divorce but I tried to explain the situation to them. I think they understand now. I stay with my mother so when I’m shooting a film, I know my sons are in good hands.”
When Rozita and her sons go out, they look like siblings. Rozita attributes her youthful looks to her genes.
“I am so blessed to possess what I have. They are gifts from God, for which I am thankful. I am even more thankful that I am very low-maintenance when it comes to looking after my health and figure. I have seen other stars who spend so much money and time to preserve their beauty, but I hardly do anything.”
Born in Alor Star, Kedah, Rozita won the Miss Malaysia Intercontinental title at 17. Some Malaysians may remember being served coffee, tea and meals by her during the three years she was with Malaysia Airlines. She also did some modelling.
Rozita has come a long way since. Happily, on March 25 this year, Anugerah HIT TV awarded her the coveted Hot Mama title.
“I am so proud to win the title as it proves you can be a mother and still look good. Some people think once you’ve given birth, it’s OK to put on weight or dress shabbily but I think a woman should look her best at any age!” opines Rozita, who is currently starring in two TV series on Astro, Kiah Pekasam on Monday and Aku Menerima Nikahnya on Sunday.
“I exercise a lot to maintain my figure but have no time to go to the gym. I play badminton and futsal. Futsal is considered quite rough but I am very good at kicking balls! I play futsal big-time, at least thrice a week.
“A few people have warned me that I was going to hurt myself or get bruised. Well, I injured my leg and now can’t play badminton or futsal. But guess what? I hurt my leg when I fell while shooting an episode for Kiah Pekasam not while playing futsal!’’
As for her beauty regime, Rozita says she just does the basics.
“I wash my face, apply mask once a fortnight and moisturise nightly, that’s all. My beauty ritual is very simple, and I haven’t had a facial in years because I’m too busy to spend hours at the salon.
“I was Garnier’s ambassador, so I use Garnier and L’Oreal products only. Luckily, I have good health, skin and complexion which require very little care!”
